Emily began helping her mother, Tina, with Big Business Scoopers in May 2015. What started as a temporary break from her career at the time has turned into a passion. In September 2019, she bought into the business! Working together as family, the two women expanded the business into six counties in New Jersey. Emily took over sole ownership of Big Business in January 2024 and looks forward to a long career helping make dog parenthood easier for hundreds of families. She currently serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors for aPaws (Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists.) And her own dog, Cedar, highly recommends her professional scooping expertise!
Tina LaBeaume, Retiree and previous Owner
Tina never imagined owning and managing a small business after decades of working in the corporate world for Merck, Medco and Express Scripts. Yet when the opportunity arose to purchase a dog poop pick up and removal business from longtime colleague and family friend, Tom Watson, it seemed like a rewarding path to take. And for the last 8.5 years of her working life, it absolutely was! Tina found so much satisfaction and fulfillment in working alongside her daughter, Emily, to make life easier for dog parents and their beloved fur babies in New Jersey. She always strictly abided by Big Business’ promise that while we work with number two, the customer (human or dog!) is always number ONE. Tina may be retired but her heart will always be with Big Business.
Kate Buzby, General Manager
Kate came to Big Business Scoopers during the pandemic in 2020. With a career that has been filled with animals, including working as a dog groomer and as a veterinary technician, this job came naturally to her. Kate began helping with the administrative side of things in May 2021 and she feels incredibly lucky to be a part of a small, woman-owned business that truly cares about their clients and their employees. Kate and her husband, Ryan, reside in Salem, NJ with their five dogs and their beloved sulcata tortoise, Bertie.
